Nutrition, Herbs & Supplementation

Just in case the picture wasn't already painted, this is not your typical acupuncture session. Holistically Inspired clients know... we work from multiple angles to help you feel your best.

This includes nutrition, herbs, and supplementation.

Benefits

A well-rounded Traditional Chinese Medicine approach includes these aspects to health in addition to your acupuncture session.

Nutrition

With the vast array of quick-fixes and dietary approaches out there, it is very easy to get overwhelmed. TCM has a sound view of nutrition and for thousands of years has incorporated it into patient plans and protocols.

TCM views food as medicine rather than the enemy. There are really sound, core principles that carry immense power.

Metabolic health is arguably the most important factor to overall wellness overtime, yet it is often overlooked.

When crafting nutrition and wellness plans, we begin with the basics and work from a foundational lens. Many people are surprised to learn the impact food can have on bringing balance to the body.

Herbs

Herbal medicine is powerful, healing medicine. Often stubborn and more internal conditions such as hormone imbalance, dietary issues, and mental/emotional complaints are very well served with herbs.

Herbs are broad spectrum, meaning they act on many different areas of the body vs. many pharmaceuticals that act only one one area. This can cause more imbalance to the body over time, while conversely, herbs bring about more balance.

Herbs are great to get to the root of the issue instead of just treating the symptoms that present.

Generally speaking, herbs are very safe with few interactions and if herbal medicine is a course of treatment we decide upon, we will go over all of this extensively.

Supplementation

Though supplementation the way it is used today was not around when TCM was first coming into existence, there are many new advancements in supplementation that make it an excellent collaborative tool to acupuncture, nutrition and herbs.

Our approach to supplementation is detail oriented and only used in conjunction with an extensive functional (optimal) lab review. Supplementation has to be specific to each person, taking too many, cheap brands, or the wrong thing will not make you healthy.

Much like herbs, if supplementation is a course of treatment we decide to embark on, it will be looked at with immense care and intention. We'll go through all of your medications and supplements you're already taking and help determine the best protocol going forward.

Treatment Options

The way I practice has developed and changed greatly over the years, needless to say, this is not your typical acupuncture treatment.

During our initial intake we'll determine the best course of treatment for you, many of which will include nutrition, herbs, and/or supplementation.

I'll always give you my best recommendation based on what I see and then together, we'll craft a plan. Click below to read through our most common treatment options.

We love organic food, creating herbal tea blends, and most of all writing about them! Stay in the loop with our blog.

Thank you!
